24 DAYS

CONTEMPORARY SURREALISM,

VISIONARY AND FANTASTIC ART

Mar 27- Apr 19, 2020

Call for Art

Deadline to submit Feb 21, 2020

24 DAYs is an experimental exhibit organized by the Ohio Art League to celebrate the theme of Contemporary Surrealism, Visionary and Fantastic Art.

Location:

Majestic Galleries

20 Public Square

Nelsonville, OH 45764

Theme:

Surrealism explores a sense of dream-like reality. While Surrealist art does not fit into a neat box determined by a checklist of common traits. It’s focus on the subconscious mind comes from the original masters in the 1920’s, and this continues to inspire the works of contemporary artists today.

Visionary art concentrates on the meta-physical world and portrays a wider vision of awareness including spiritual or mystical themes. Here are a few of the most influential Visionary artists: Ernst Fuchs, Alex Gray, Brigitte Marlin.

Curator:

Fatima Taylor is the Vice-President and Creative Director for the Ohio Art League. Fatima is an active member of the Society for Art of Imagination (www.artofimagination.org). Her artworks have been exhibited in New York and Moscow. In 2018, Fatima received a Visionary Art Award sponsored by the Eurasian Art Union.
