Todd Rector

Artist's Biography

Todd Rector is a Columbus based artist that explores landscape and portraiture through interpreting the forms and shapes define our culture, gender, and orientations. Studying at Columbus College of Art and Design and The Ohio State University, he earned a BFA  in painting and drawing.  As a colorblind artist, Todd had never shied away from utilizing bold color to create strong imagery of pop culture, emotional and political subjects. With works of illustrative storytelling, landscapes and representational abstractions, his work is a collection of various inspirations from his surroundings. Believing art is a personal experience, he enjoys sharing the images in his head but allowing the viewer to decide on the storyline.  One of his most celebrated works, the series "...And Your Little Dog, Too" has traveled across many states to various festivals and exhibitions celebrating the Wonderful Wizard Of Oz.
