Jennifer Jolly BrownWednesday, June 17th7-8:30pmJennifer’s training in art has not been traditional. Her undergraduate and graduate work is in liberal studies, and her printmaking training was through the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center. She began her ceramics studies with Sandy Lang and Walter Weil at LangWeil Studios, where she remains a student. Jennifer’s primary printmaking processes are dry point etching and wood block relief printing. She also employs other processes in her work, including cyanotype, monotype, and photopolymer gravure. Her concentration in ceramics is on hand-built, raku-fired forms, and she often incorporates found objects. She believes inspiration is everywhere and explores the shapes and lines of the built environment, organic shapes and textures from nature, and wherever her imagination leads. |
