Enclosed vessels carry such a rich history in both their contents, their creation and the reflections of the society that created them. The Cultural Arts Center seeks to further understanding of the “format” across mediums – shape, texture, primary mass, usability, ceremony, rhythm, shoulder, mouth, and lid – the common language of the hollow vessel. Sculptors, this means you!
With this event, CAC will exhibit hollow vessels (literal or interpretive) in wood, glass, or ceramic mediums.
Hollowform will provide networking opportunities and connections between disciplines that will add more value to artists’ work and create opportunities for collaboration, promotion and elevation of value in their collective work.
Hollowform will be exhibited from November 21 to December 27, 2014 in the Cultural Arts Center Main Hall Gallery. An Opening Reception is to be held on Nov. 21 from 6 – 8 pm.
Use your imagination to interpret to viewers the best use of negative space.
