“Along this Path” -- explorations and excursions paintings by artist Ricky Borgia.
I am driven by the idea that color, shape and rhythm are more than familiar features of reality; they are essential components of meaning shared collectively throughout mankind's evolution.
My interest in fine art started with the drawings of DaVinci, Durer and Escher. Paintings on canvas and work with color came much later. After attending CCAD as a fine arts major, I eventually migrated to New York City where my creative interests included performing arts, conceptual projects and the creation, performance and production of music, all of which are on-going.
With each and every creative effort I become keenly aware of certain aspects of the processes, styles and choices that are inherent in all endeavors. The excitement and challenge of beginning something new, seeing its development through many iterations and finally to the finished presentation stage. No matter if a painting, screenplay, musical score or business venture; all creative projects have components that can be measured and compared. Currently working out of my studio in Olde Town East, I continue to explore possibilities where art, data and universal culture intersect and to further develop my own potential for compassion and understanding through the creative process.
Along this path is a collection of recent works inspired, in part, by a relentless curiosity and all-consuming fascination with the ‘personality of color’.
