Join member artist Andrew McCauley at ROY G BIV Gallery from Nov. 1 through Nov. 29

His works incorporate the human figure into a blended, narrative landscape that depicts memory loss. McCauley's works depict various diseases have on humans minds and bodies.

The artist’s characters are caught in the experience of nervous and circulatory system failure and, ultimately, a total loss of mobility. Each is surrounded by the deconstruction and fractioning of archetypal memories. The playful, intentionally unsophisticated characters act as a balance to lighten the heavy connotation of their decline.

Don't miss the Opening Reception during Gallery Hop in Columbus on Saturday Nov. 1 from 7 -10pm.

The artists will participate in an Artist Talk on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the ROY Gallery at 2:30 pm.

Every year for 50 years the L.A. Municipal Gallery has held its "Open Call" exhibit where any artist can show up with their art and an entry fee (to benefit gallery programs) and the piece is shown. The Los Angeles Center For Digital Art decided to launch an international experiment of the same nature where the artists upload images that are printed and hung by the gallery. The hundreds of works are displayed in a grid like installation where every work submitted is exhibited.

Snap to Grid: The UN-Juried Exhibit takes place from December 11, 2014 - January 3, 2015, with an Opening Reception on Thursday December 11, from 7 - 9 pm in conjunction with the Downtown Art Walk.

The deadline for entries is DECEMBER 1, 2014!

Display your work in this nationally acclaimed, un-juried exhibit featuring digital art and photography. All entries will be printed (8.5"x11" on heavyweight paper) and shown in the LACDA gallery arranged in a grid. Entrants submit .JPEG files of original work. Multiple entries are permitted ($35/ entry). Separate registration fee is required for each image.

All styles of artwork and photography in which digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable. Digital video stills and screen shots of web/new media are acceptable. Documentation shots of digital installation and digital sculpture are acceptable.

Get the intel on the submission guidelines and find out how easy it is to submit!

OAL's own Esther Hall and Stephanie Rond of the Carnegie Gallery in Columbus will discuss the best practices for professional artists in terms of promoting and developing artwork.

This Professional Development Workshop, located at Wild Goose Creative in Columbus, will address the difference between an Artist CV and Resume; how exhibitions are accepted and ways to enter; why being part of an organization such as OAL, Creative Arts of Women, or VSA Ohio are important and beneficial to an artist; and how social media has changed the way we access the arts. This workshop is geared towards artists with and without disabilities, art facilitators, and their staff.

Join us Friday, November 7 at Wild Goose from noon to 2:30 pm and give your artistic career a jump-start!

The workshop is FREE, but registration is required. Shoot an email to get signed up, or call (614) 241-5325.
